CENTRAL TORONTO VRC QUALIFYING EVENT

Team 356 takes home three awards today. With two Team356 teams competing against each other in the finals, one team would finish off as the Tournament Finalist and the other team would finish as the Tournament Champions. A big congratulation to Team 356B(Dragons) and their partner’s 1104Z(Brampton Robotics) along with 3560C(Chingbotics) for being the Tournament Finalist. Team 356E(Dragons), 3560X(Chingbotics), and 2030B(Bot is Life) competed together to outdo all the teams at the competition, which resulted in them becoming the Tournament Champions. Team356 also took home the judges award for demonstrating excellent team building skills when their robot broke in half, VexNet keys weren't working, and for lending a hand to other teams who needed assistance.

On the day of the competition, Team356B, E, and Y started the day off strong with 356B placing first as the day progressed, but 356E and 356Y faced problems with their robot. 356Y tirelessly attempted to fix their robot’s intake but was unsuccessful. 356E was able to fix their VexNet problems and move at full throttle to complete all of their qualifying matches. With the works of Team356’s scouting team, all teams were able to find outstanding partners to play with for the final round of quarter, semi, and final matches. With 356E and 356Y playing against each other, one team was bound to be eliminated. In an unfortunate match, 356Y lost to their senior team 356E. This meant that 356E and 356B would be competing with each other for the finals. Ultimately, one 356 team would walk away from the competition as the tournament finalist. More the less, the members of 356E proved themselves worthy and were able to perform exceptionally, exceeding the team’s expectations.

The Central Toronto VRC Qualifying Event was a great opportunity for Team356 to work together as a single unit to help each other solve problems. For the first time this season, we were finally able to display all of our sponsors on each robot, giving ourselves support from both the audience and from the sponsors. The success of this competition has led the team to build its confidence and come to understand that hard work pays off, eventually leading to a greater reward in the long run.
